My career working with State Farm began when we opened the doors to our Lockport agency in 2006. When James opened up his second location in Thibodaux, I was the given the opportunity to work at both locations, forging relationships with the staff and people from both offices.
I had the pleasure of assisting many customers throughout my 17 years with the agency, serving in several different roles-- from receptionist, to claims, and now currently serving as the business office manager for both locations, doing many behind-the-scenes tasks.
I grew up in Vacherie, where I currently reside today with my husband, James, and our two children. In my spare time, I like to spend time with family, decorate, design, and take vacations.

I have 40 years of experience working with State Farm Agents. I am currently on my 3rd year with the James Matassa Agency, after having 38 previous years with a retired agent. I enjoy being of service to our customers and giving them knowledge of different types of insurance-- such as Auto, Life, Homeowners, and Health. The greatest joy is carrying out the promise at claims time!
When not at work, I enjoy dancing with my husband of over 40 years, helping the elderly, volunteering at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church as the Confirmation Coordinator, Extra Ordinary Minister and Commentator. I also volunteer working the ticket booth for Chackbay Volunteer Fire Department Gumbo Festival, and am a member of The Mardi Gras Krewe of Choupic. My most enjoyable time is spent with family- especially our seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter!

I am originally from Cut Off, but found my way to Thibodaux to continue my education at Nicholls State University, where I received a Bachelors in Mass Communications. During my time at Nicholls I was involved in many groups, especially those concerning helping others, which is something I have always had a passion for. Being able to help people with their insurance needs is highly rewarding. In my free time, I like to travel with my friends and do things like hiking and attending music festivals. Music has always been a huge part of my life-- I was even a radio personality for 3 years while in college!

I joined the Matassa team in August 2020, after working for a previous State Farm agent for 20 years until his retirement.
I had the opportunity to work in several areas while employed by James, including positions in new business acquisition, customer service, and now currently serving in the role of assisting customers with claims for both our Lockport and Thibodaux agencies.
I have been happily married for over 40 years. I have two children, and some beautiful grandchildren that are my world. On the weekends, my greatest joy is spending time together with my family.

I have one daughter, and an a Meme to three amazing grandsons. My favorite thing to do is visit my daughter, son-in-law and grandsons as often as possible. I enjoy shopping, crossword puzzles, reading, eating out, and attending any event my grandson's are involved in.
